Mountain Wedding at High Hampton Inn

Mountain Wedding at High Hampton Inn.

When Miami couple Monika and Kevin decided to have a destination mountain wedding, they headed to the hills. Located in Cashiers, the High Hampton Inn and Country Club served as the perfect spot for their ceremony and reception. And even though a cold front came through, their mountain wedding was as heartwarming as could be. Monika was truly a stunning bride. She chose a fitted mermaid-style gown that featured a deep illusion neckline and floral lace appliques.

Her accessories were equally amazing – a pair of beaded peep-toe Jimmy Choo heels, a glamorous clutch, a long veil, and beaded hair comb.

The color inspiration for the day was dark red. The invitation suite featured the striking hue, along with ribbon-tied lace jackets.

To balance the bold dark red color, the bride’s bouquet featured blush and cream roses along with assorted greenery.

The bride and her bridesmaids all got ready wearing matching silk robes, toasting one another on the sunlit deck.

Inside, the reception tables featured an assortment of floral arrangements and gold décor. Gold charger plates, small sprigs of greenery, white napkins, and clear glassware completed the place settings.

From the venue, every guest got a gorgeous glimpse of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The rippling water and the fall foliage dotted on the hills was exactly what the couple wanted.

The ceremony took place out on the lawn overlooking the water. Tall arrangements of white hydrangea and blush roses marked the altar spot.

As her long veil flowed in the mountain breeze, Monika was escorted down the lantern-flanked aisle to Kevin.

With groomsmen in gray suits and bridesmaids in dark red dresses, the couple were surrounded by lots of love as they said their “I dos.”

The couple’s symbol of unity was a sand ceremony, where they combined two types of sand into one vase.

Monika’s bridesmaids carried blush-inspired mini bouquets to accompany their dark red gowns and classic stoles.

While his groomsmen wore gray, Kevin chose a slightly darker gray tuxedo for his wedding day look.

The air turned cooler than expected, encouraging Monika to wrap up in a sophisticated white stole to keep warm - still the ever phenomenal bride, of course.

With the warm hue of the trees, Monika and Kevin were gifted with a resplendent fall backdrop. The golden, rich tones made every photo even more captivating than the last.

Guests escaped the cold by warming up next to an outdoor fire pit before retreating inside.

Monika and Kevin danced their way into the reception, where they stopped in the center to have their first official dance as husband and wife.

Guests enjoyed a popcorn bar, which included an elegant display of several flavors from which to choose.

The head table couldn’t be missed. It featured a glittering linen, generous candlelight, and lit “Mr.” and “Mrs.” wooden signs.

As the night fell and the romantic glow became more prominent, it was time to cut the cake. The three-tier creation featured smooth fondant dripping with tiny beads and pink roses.

The couple laughed and cried as their loved ones toasted them but it’s what Monika did at the reception that had everyone on their feet.

To celebrate their Cuban heritage, Monika surprised guests with a special dance with some of her wedding party. She even changed into a two-piece outfit and let her hair down.

From infusing their Cuban flair to dancing by ample candlelight, Monika and Kevin’s mountain wedding was exclusively about them. While many couples consider tropical or international locations for destination weddings, the unique decision by this Miami couple to escape the heat and head to the mountains was endearing and special.
