Goodstone Inn Virginia Wedding Inspiration. In the colder months, it’s easy to embrace darker, icier tones but sometimes, the gray skies and chilly air need to be revitalized with color. This brash and bold styled shoot incorporates cool winter grays and blues, along with bursts of dark red for a daring but gorgeous presentation at the Goodstone Inn & Restaurant in Middleburg, Va.
An invitation suite marked with rough and wine-colored edges offer a gorgeous and gallant preview of what’s to come. The placecards for guests also match for a cohesive paper suite.
The bride wears a blue-gray gown and peep-toe heels that speak to today’s trends of incorporating color into bridal style. The ethereal gown features delicate silver beading on the bodice and a dreamy, multi-layered skirt. She accessorizes with a long, overflowing white veil and a bouquet similar to the reception centerpiece.
The groom’s look embraces the colorful theme of the shoot with a black tuxedo and dark red bow tie. His boutonniere also includes colorful buds and sprigs.
The florals take center stage on the tablescape. Rich red roses, astilbe, wine-colored ranunculus, light pink roses, and eucalyptus are offset by the textured dusty blue runner, blue plates, and gold flatware. In place of a card, the menu is written in calligraphy on a piece of white fabric.
Seasonal berries serve as garnish on the cake. Tiers lightly iced with white buttercream are accented with a band of buttercream pearls, along with assorted greenery and raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and pomegranate seeds.
As the couple take a step outside to admire the aged stonework of the Manor House, they can enjoy the sprawling Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance. And it’s here that winter performs its magic. The browns turn blue and the clouds settle in for an experience only enjoyed in Virginia's wine and horse country.
