Pia Toscano Celebrity Wedding in New York. Pia Toscano is the latest celebrity to tie the knot in a glitzy, gorgeous wedding to Jimmy R.O. Smith at the Angel Orensanz Center in Manhattan, NY. Toscano rose to fame on season 10 of American Idol and it was during a 2014 promotional tour with singer and former American Idol judge, Jennifer Lopez, that she was introduced to Jimmy. Jimmy proposed to Pia at their favorite restaurant, STK, after trying to get her on the dance floor. After she said “no” several times, he asked “If you won’t dance with me, will you marry me?” Needless to say, she said “yes” to that one.
Pia and Jimmy wanted their wedding to be an experience for all of their guests. They asked each lady to dress in white and each gentleman to dress in black, making them all feel like an extension of the wedding party. The ambiance was romantic and classy and the entire night was full of surprises.
Pia’s dream wedding gown was custom designed by friend, Michael Costello. Pia wanted her look to be Grecian-inspired, so Costello created a silk gown with a plunging neckline, beaded embroidery on the shoulders and long, dramatic sleeves.
The bride and groom shared an intimate first look before the ceremony. Pia walked up to her groom, her stunning train and veil following behind her. Jimmy, clad in an off-white and black tuxedo jacket and black pants, greeted his bride with open arms. They savored the sweet moment and took gorgeous photos before the ceremony with their loved ones.
The faint glow of candlelight filled the event space as guests took their seats. The aisle, lined with clear vases of pillar candles and flanked with hanging floral arrangements, led to a beautiful floral arch from which the two would say their vows.
The ceiling of the former synagogue beamed with blue and pink uplighting that provided a rousing dose of color. And beneath it all, Pia and Jimmy were cast in beautiful light for all to see.
They exchanged vows with hearty laughter and sincere sentiments before their guests. And of course, sealed their promises with a memorable first kiss.
The reception was exactly what the couple envisioned - full of romance, classic elegance and yes, surprises. Guests were greeted by a seating chart made with a display of books framed in a bed of moss.
Flowers, keys, and candles were at every twist and turn of this event, providing a seamless design throughout the night.
The head table for Pia and Jimmy featured scores of floral arrangements filled with hydrangea and pink roses, gold votives and candles.
Reception tables featured textured linens, centerpieces beaming with white blooms, and collections of clear china and stemware.
The cake was a dreamy white and gold masterpiece. The seven-tier dessert featured an array of exclusive gold and white designs on each layer. It was topped with a glittering monogram joining the bride and groom’s initials.
Guests could take their picture in front of a resplendent floral photo wall, custom designed with the couple’s personalized monogram.
Some of the surprises throughout the reception included Pia serenading her new husband with “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur, a special performance by Jimmy, the bride’s father, and Jimmy’s groomsmen during the father/daughter dance and a final surprise for their guests – a room filled with every dessert imaginable!
Pia and Jimmy offered up a truly impressive collection of cake pops, s’more marshmallow pops, donuts, and much more!
Pia Toscano and Jimmy R.O. Smith's celebrity wedding was the stuff of dreams. This gorgeous gold, pink, and white affair dazzled from the first look to the last bite. We’re certain Pia will forever sing a sweet tune and Jimmy will always kick up his feet as they recount and cherish the precious memories from the day of their greatest event, the best show, the most authentic performance they will ever be a part of – their wedding.
