Desert Botanical Gardens Wedding. Jessica and Matthew had a true, desert-style wedding at Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, Ariz. With cacti all around, loads of succulents in every twist and turn, and a gorgeous sun-lit ceremony, this couple knows how to throw one romantic event full of Southwestern charm.

The architecture that surrounds the Desert Botanical Garden is the epitome of Southwestern style with its wooden accents and stucco walls.

The bride chose a dramatic beaded strapless sweetheart style gown with a drop waist and voluminous skirt. She accessorized with a tiara, veil and wedge heels - both fabulous and comfortable.

Her bouquet, like many of the floral elements in this wedding, was filled to the brim with succulents of all shapes and sizes.

Jessica posed for photos before the ceremony surrounded by the desert landscape of the botanical gardens. She also joined up with her bridesmaids and bridesmen who donned the central color of the day – eggplant.

Matthew looked especially handsome in his naval dress uniform and had fun posing for photos with his groomsmen before the ceremony.

Simple folding wooden chairs were set out for guests on the Ullman Terrace overlooking the garden’s stunning butte.

Jessica and Matthew were wed under the terrace’s unique awning, surrounded by family and friends. After saying “I do,” they exited down the aisle full of joy.

They took their first photos as husband and wife – a brilliant pair in immaculate white.

As the sun settled down below the horizon, the couple and their guests celebrated with an evening reception. Their wedding cake was actually a collection of cakes featuring beaded bands and a colorful array of succulents to tie in the day’s inspiration.

This wedding in the Arizona desert was anything but ordinary. Jessica and Matthew found a way to use the warm landscape as inspiration in an elegant and unique way. From the rich purple and green color palette to the awe-inspiring backdrop of the gardens, there’s nothing else that could’ve made this desert wedding any more delightful.
