Laurie House New Jersey Real Wedding.
Ashley and Bill’s September wedding day can only be described with one word: yay! This joyous and equally charming affair at the Chauncey Hotel and Laurie House Bed and Breakfast in Princeton, New Jersey, was a fun mix of do-it-yourself touches and a color palette that would make you smile.
With a combination of pink and gray, this wedding boasted both feminine and masculine qualities. The invitation suite featured gray envelopes with pink wax seals and reply cards with Yay! and Nay responses. This was a fun, off-beat way to take a wedding tradition and add a touch of personality and flair.
Ashley’s dress featured a sweetheart neckline and structured ruching on the bodice. It cinched at the waist and the skirt hung easily to the floor. Ashley carried a bouquet of pink flowers in every shade and green accents.
Bridesmaids wore short gray dresses in various styles and carried smaller, similar bouquets as the bride.
Bill and his groomsmen chose to wear black tuxedoes and vests. While his guys wore black ties, Bill wore gray and every gentleman donned a light pink rose boutonniere.
The ceremony took place on the lawn of the venue. The couple’s dog, Bella, served as the flower girl, complete with a pink tutu. Ashley was escorted down the aisle to a white gazebo where her fiance stood waiting. After a genuine, heartfelt ceremony, Ashley and Bill exited with beaming smiles to raucous cheer.
The couple posed for fun photos with their bridal party and favorite four-legged friend before the reception. Some of their personal shots included a photo of the couple’s feet, Ashley in heels and Bill showing his funny socks, and a sweet embrace in front of a setting sun.
The reception is where a lot of the handmade details were incorporated. A picture frame with personally-significant locations as table names instead of table numbers told guests where to find their seats. For an alternative to a traditional guestbook, guests were asked to sign Jenga pieces. Ashley and her maid of honor even crafted large block letters to display at the reception, such as the word Love.
Place settings were bright and beautiful with white napkins and gray and pink polka-dotted menus. It all took place under a fabric-draped tent. White chivari chairs accompanied linen-covered tables, complete with bursting flower arrangements.
The cake was modest but magnificent. Two white tiers with frosted bands and pearl accents around the layers were topped with an adorable best day ever cake topper.
The couple took to the floor for their first dance as husband and wife and even chose to choreograph a special part as a way to say thank you to their guests. Additionally, guests got to enjoy a photo booth at the reception and had memories to take home.
Ashley and Bill created a personalized experience for each guest that was as unique as the couple. For them, it truly was the best day ever and for that we simply say Yay! Congratulations!
