Graylyn Estate Wedding Inspiration.
Set among the beautiful verdant hills of Winston-Salem, N.C., is the Graylyn Estate, a boutique hotel that serves as the picturesque venue for this classic styled shoot. For real life husband and wife, Jason and Stefanie, the chance to don some dashing wedding duds and have a “redo” at a wedding experience was a chance they couldn’t resist after three years of wedded bliss.
The ambiance of the shoot takes guests back in time, where the days moved slower and elegance abounded with every social event. The invitation suite features swirling gold calligraphy on a bold dark blue piece of parchment.
Many areas of the estate feature characteristic cobblestone, so of course, the photographer captures this with a glimpse of the bride’s romantic white rose bouquet.
Stefanie looks most angelic in her lace gown with illusion sleeves and neckline, and of course, the voluminous skirt.
In the estate’s stone gazebo, Stefanie is the picture of perfection with her half-up hairstyle, dramatic eyes and gorgeous accessories.
Jason complements the bride, as well as the shoot’s theme, in a dark blue tuxedo, complete with a unique dark blue bow tie.
Together, they make a jaw-dropping pair as the bride clutches her oversized bouquet, where the gray ribbons and silver dollar eucalyptus add color and texture.
The couple moves away from the gazebo and terrace towards a reception table for two. The brilliant tablescape features a classic all-white design complete with white table linens and classic white china.
Place settings also feature gold-rimmed drinking glasses and gold flatware. The gold accents complement the centerpiece, which includes a floral arrangement anchored by gold candlesticks, white tapers, and antique books in the shoot’s characteristic dark blue hue.
The details are so incredibly important, including a small sprig of rosemary in the couple’s drinking glasses.
Inside, the cake is a masterpiece with its dark blue top and white base featuring a gold inscription. The dessert sits on a small tray presented by a white table draped with blue cloth.
They find the perfect spot for photos outside of the Manor House tower. The photographer even captures some classic shots of the bouquet, as well as the couple in front of a hand-painted backdrop – a fabulous DIY project.
They ascend the winding steps before stepping out on the tower’s balcony, overlooking the beautiful 55-acre property.
The bride makes a fabulous dress change and stuns in a romantic dusty blue ball gown. With her hair pinned in a low updo, she shows off the gorgeous strapless number, which features unique blue fabric and a detachable tulle skirt.
They pause next to the estate’s coveted and quite popular old London Taxi.
As the sun begins to dip below the trees, the couple make their way around the property. From the cobblestone entrance to the plush lawns, they’re kissed by the gentle sunlight.
The bride takes a piece of tulle and drapes it over her and the groom, embracing for one last romantic kiss in this enchanting atmosphere.
Incredibly, the decor of this shoot is minimalistic. The couple, armed with sophisticated and classic fashion, are simply immersed in the beauty of this gorgeous Winston-Salem gem. But even with its antique architecture and elegant décor, this styled shoot reminds us that it’s the true beauty from within that makes the wedding.
