Bridal shows are a great way to find and meet wedding vendors.
It's your time to be in the driver seat. But you need to do your homework to choose the right vendors to see if they can help create your vision. You need to ask questions, see samples of their work, and see their personality matches yours.
At bridal shows, you will see photographers, videographers, cake designers and florists. You will also obtain suggestions for wedding venues and much more. The small fee that you pay to attend an event like this is well worth the investment. Can you imagine how much time and gas you can save if you go to one of these shows? Here are a few tips for bridal shows:
1. Make pre address labels to give to vendors or place on their forms.
2. Ask the vendors you are interested in if they have your date available. Remember, they are booking weddings before, during and after the show. It would be a shame if you did not find out until after the show that the vendors you liked were unavailable.
3. Bring a notebook, pen & tape. Write down a list of your favorite vendors & take the cards of the vendors you like. Also, tape the card to a page and write notes about the vendor so you won't forget them. Believe me, after spending hours at a show, it's very easy to forget all the wedding vendors that you spoke with or even why you liked them.
4. Come prepared with your checkbook to place a deposit on that day. Brides book with the vendors at the show as well as right after it. Unless you hire the vendor, they have no obligation to hold the date open for you. This is a great way to ensure that you get the vendors you want.
