Unique Wedding Cakes III

Unique Wedding Cakes III

From colored fondant, to paint, to no frosting at all, unique wedding cakes these days come in all shapes, sizes, and ingredients. So, if you’re looking for something deliciously different for your wedding day dessert, here are a few ideas that’ll keep your guests talking (and tasting!) all through the night. This green and white creation is a twist on tradition. The bottom tiers are covered with a green ombre rippled fondant, while the top tiers are clean and crisp in white. The design is balanced with a generous sprig of greenery on top.

If your wedding is bright and fun, this multi-colored cake is a great way to bring it all together. Striking tiers are covered with blue, pink, and white, and offset by alternating layers of plain white. The cake artist added small collections of flowers, thistle, and succulents to create even more color and depth.

If you can’t decide between a few ideas, incorporate them all. This multi-faceted design features gold, green and white. Stenciled designs accentuate the top tier, while handwriting adds character to the second tier, and the base is garnished with fondant flowers, greenery, and gold-dusted ripples.

This cake design screams summer. Two extra-tall tiers feature white and light blue fondant. A small band of gold accents the top tier to tie in the décor of the reception. And to top it all off, gorgeous peonies, garden roses, and ranunculus add a generous pop of bold color.

A traditional cake can still be made to look unique and modern. This regal design features alternating white and gold tiers but upon closer inspection, each has lace and rosette texture. Pink roses and greenery are dotted about the tiers and a gold crown sits atop to tie in the couple’s theme.

Not a fan of frosting and fondant? No problem! This uncanny creation features naked layers of confetti cake atop additional layers of berry-infused cakes and fillings. The colorful ingredients are all that’s needed to make this cake a standout.

Cake decorations don’t stop at flowers and greenery. This Parisian-inspired cake features colorful French macaroons around the light pink tiers for extra sweetness and sophistication.

If you want your cake to be a focal point at your celebration, think outside of the cake box. Imagine colors, shapes, styles, and ideas that speak to you and your palate. Do something bold and daring or simply take a twist on tradition. Either way, it’ll certainly be sweet.
