Sayulita Mexico Destination Wedding.
From the bride: We knew we wanted a really unique destination wedding. We had been looking all over for something perfect for a few months and everything either didn't fit with our budget or not quite what we were looking for. A co-worker of mine at the hospital told me to check out Villa Amor in Sayulita, Mexico. I immediately checked it out online and booked it the next day! It was exactly what we wanted, a perfect destination to experience with our family and friends!
The vision for my wedding was tropical, colorful, elegant, but fun with all the special Mexican touches. I absolutely love a lot of color so I was excited to have a wedding were I could use as much color as I wanted, especially my favorite color, PINK!
Looking back on my wedding day, I feel happiness and nostalgic. Happiness for getting to marry my husband. Happiness for being in a beautiful paradise location with all our family and friends there to celebrate us. Happiness for getting to wear my incredible wedding dress! Happiness with how everything turned out, the flowers, the decorations, the music, the donkey, the cigar maker, happiness to be there with Jess again and have her finally take our wedding photos! But also nostalgic that it's all over! The whole week felt like it went by so fast! It's a bittersweet feeling but it's so fun and exciting to be married to my soul mate!
The proposal: Jon proposed outside of the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City. I woke up that day with a sweet card from him that told me to go get ready for a massage. Later, we went to one of the best restaurants in Kansas City, Blue Stem and had an incredible 5 course meal. He brought a bottle of Dom Perignon with us to drink during our meal, so I could tell something was up. We went back to our apartment after dinner and started slow dancing in our living room. He said he wanted to go walk around the Nelson (we live about a block away), he got down on one knee in front of "The Thinker" statue out front and I said "Yes!"
