Megan and Logan are planning an October wedding in Falls of Rough, Kentucky, and felt it only suitable to take their engagement photos in the same place. And what a magical location it is! From the rock dam to the bridge to the small cliff overlooking the water, Falls of Rough evokes feelings of nostalgia and wonder. This sweet couple chose classy looks for their session. Logan wore a blue blazer, khaki pants, and brown shoes. His beloved chose a long gray skirt and an off-the-shoulder white blouse.
A unique twist on the classic ring shot shows Megan and Logan embracing.
The dappled sunlight illuminates the tops of the trees while Logan plants a sweet kiss on his bride’s shoulder.
They truly capture the essence of the Falls of Rough from the banks of the water – rocky and teeming with trees. However, their presence brings a certain softness to the location.
The curls of Megan’s hair captures the sunlight as Logan looks deeply into her eyes for an utterly romantic shot.
As they traverse the rocks hand-in-hand, the water is calm and still down below.
By the looks of this heart, Megan and Logan aren't the only ones who cherish Falls of Rough.
The photographer puts distance between themselves and the couple for this amazing shot. Standing on the small ledge, their size is eclipsed by the rocks and trees that surround them. How beautiful the sky looks as Megan and Logan’s silhouettes begin to appear.
Now facing the opposite direction, the lovely falling water of the rock dam paints a beautiful picture behind them.
They also make their way out to a few of the dry rocks in the water while the abandoned grist mill stands in the distance.
Megan touches her toes to the water before joining Logan. The iron bridge in the distance makes for an interesting and unique background – a touchstone of the Falls of Rough community.
This engagement session was all about the couple immersing themselves in their surroundings. Megan and Logan look completely natural as they admire and breathe in what Falls of Rough has to offer. Their wedding will be beautiful and every summer spent in Falls of Rough will be a reminder of a special time in their lives.
