Wow. Usually, when you think about homemade items for a wedding, immediately a country setting comes to mind. However, Mimi and Ben used many hand crafted items in their Charlotte, North Carolina nuptials and it was unique and trendy. It was definitely one of a kind and outside of the box. It was spectacular yet fun. First, let look at the couple. Mimi wore a simple yet stylish strapless gown. She had a blue green cooker instead of pearls. She did not wear heels but green Tom's.
She did not have a full veil but a piece a netting over her hair.
The groom and groomsmen all wore lime green bow ties and had lapel pins of superheros as boutonnieres.
The bridesmaids all wore short dresses in a variety of pastel colors. Their bouquets as well as that of the bride's were made of material in different colors and designs. The bridal bouquet had a heart and the initials of the couple. How cute is that?
I love these handmade scrabble pieces! What a great idea for photos.
Next, the decor was so simple but when blended with the entire wedding theme it became amazing. The church had draping behind the couple of various colors which matched the colors of the bridesmaids dresses.
They also had the guests throw green rice.
At the reception, they had different colored string from the ceiling and cute crafts hanging down.
They also used nicely decorated wine bottles as centerpieces instead of flowers.
Mimi also made numerous handmade placards that they used for the pictures after the wedding ceremony. It was a nice touch.
It's amazing that you can use a color to create such a wonderful wedding. Mimi and Ben had a green affair and they used their color choice throughout each aspect of their Charlotte,North Carolina wedding. If you are thinking of handcrafting some of the items for your wedding, Mimi showed that classy does not have to be fancy. It can be simple and say something about who you are as a couple. Remember, this is your day so as they say, "do you." You will create an amazing atmosphere and memories of an incredible wedding experience.
