Bijou Van Ness Head Pieces

Friday, February 10th, 2012

Headpieces are a great way to accent your wedding dress and show off your personal style. Whether you want to create a vintage-inspired look for your special day or want a statement piece, there are plenty of different styles from which to choose. Bijou Van Ness headpieces vary in style, so there really is something for every bride.

Accentuate a sleek chignon or braided updo with the Anabelle or Borrego pieces, or add the chic Blossom cap and veil to complement a sleek gown.

Many of the beautiful headpieces, such as the Le Petit Chapeau or Coquette, have a Parisian-inspired style, and will surely leave your groom speechless as you walk down the aisle.

Brides looking for an Old Hollywood style will appreciate the pillbox and veil found with the Le Petit Pillbox headpiece, as well as the Simone feathered piece, which perfectly complements any type of wedding dress.

Bijou Van Ness headpieces also feature floral styles, including the elegant Grand Poppy, Monte Kahlo, Vanessa and Rosa designs.

Before & After- Wedding Day Make-up & Hair

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

Hair and make-up play a major role in your wedding day look. I love watching a bride transform on her wedding day. Some brides go natural and others prefer to glam up their look. Look at these beautiful before and after bride shots.  I love that their make-up looks all even. Sometimes you can put too much make-up on. Your face can be one color and it doesn’t blend with the rest of your body. These are beautiful transformations! Makeovers via Hair Comes the Bride

What do you think of these before and after make-overs?

Wedding Hairstyles 2011

Monday, April 11th, 2011

I love a good up-do. They are classic, chic, and allow the bride’s face to be front and center. But there is a new trend emerging that I believe will become just as classic…wearing the hair down. It is very feminine and romantic. It is also very easy, flowing, and natural.

How many girls actually wear an elaborate up-do every day of their life? Make your hairstyle an extension of your everyday self. Yes, it should be special to match the atmosphere of your day, but don’t change who you are just because an up-do is expected.

Funky Details

I found some great images of a bride with funky details.
Not only is she wearing a birdcage veil but a beautiful feather headpiece. The shoes are absolutely adorable as well.

Great Hair Accessory for Veil

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

I found this great hair accessory for a veil. A large rose or feather is a great extension of just a plain old veil! It seems she gave her bridesmaids one to wear as well.

Hairstyles for Everyone

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

When  completing your wedding day look, remember to consider everything from your hairstyle to your shoes. When choosing a hairstyle, consider your venue and the desired atmosphere for the day. Here are a few things to consider.

Weddings on the beach will have that shore breeze. Choose a style that allows your tresses to flow. This way your style cannot be messed up even if it gets a little wind-blown.

If you are getting married in a church or inside venue, there is a lot more freedom. You can choose a long hairstyle or an elaborate up-do.

If your wedding is outside or in a garden, just remember the elements. It could be scorching hot and you might want your hair up to relieve some of the heat. It could be raining and a curly style will frizz or go flat.

Just remember to consider the atmosphere of the wedding as well. Is it Modern Chic or Romantic Getaway? Your hairstyle should compliment the feel of your day.
