It's no wonder the color of the year for 2018 is radiant orchid. This soft, feminine color is gaining in popularity and there's no better time to incorporate this hue into your nuptials than next year!

Shades of purple are wonderful for weddings. Not only can you find a great shade for any season, but it's girly enough for the bride, yet not too feminine for the groom's taste, as well. And there are so many ways to incorporate these colors in your design scheme to make the purple pop!

Flowers are nature's way of saying purple is it! There are so many gorgeous varieties of flowers in beautiful shades of purple “ just look at the names: lilac, orchid, and violet! Use these along with poppies, roses and hydrangea to create beautiful arrangements for your big day. You can also use hints of pink and white flowers or greenery to add dimension to your bouquets or boutonnieres.

Bridesmaids can look equally as lovely in a beautiful purple dress. You can add some flair by having each lady wear a slightly different shade for an ombre wedding party look. Also, another fun idea is to have your ladies wear champagne-colored dresses and flirty purple heels! Get creative with it and throw in some personality.

The wedding cake can also incorporate some shades of purple. By using small, white details, it stills gives the impression of a classic wedding confection, but is also modern and fits with present-day design. One can also have a stark white cake and add blooms of dark purple hydrangea on the layers for a burst of color.

A romantic way to add purple to the reception area is to use dark purple votive candles that exude purple light from the flicker of the flame. Also, incorporating tall vases of dark flowers adds variation to the light linens. Dress up your table numbers with lilac-colored paper or font and think about using a soft purple tablecloth or napkin for each guest that is still light, airy and coordinated.

There are so many ways you can use purple in your wedding day. It's such a classic, timeless color that brides have long embraced and will continue to use for years and years to come.
